What's on my shelf?

Here's five products I have loved using recently:

Wild Source Night Nectar

Pure 100% natural plant oils

Vegan & Cruelty Free

Perfect for all skin types including perimenopausal and menopausal skin

An 'overnight facial' in a bottle

An absolutely beautiful, deeply nourishing, repairing and balancing facial oil. Perfect for use as part of your evening skincare routine. I've actually worked my way through several of these gorgeous bottles. It feels like an indulgent elixir for the skin which effectively calms and soothes whilst boosting overall radiance and glow. It's like food for the skin.

Jojoba seed oil hydrates and softens whilst balancing oil production so, don't worry, it won't increase oil production. Chia seed oil softens, moisturises and improves our all important skin barrier. Whilst Baobab seed oil works on regenerating and plumping our skin.

Apply in the evening to cleansed skin. Whilst massaging in I always try to take some time to breathe in the relaxing blend of aromas. They have been specifically blended to induce a state of peace and restful sleep. Once tried I definitely believe it will become a staple on your shelf, as it has mine. Honestly a joy to use on myself and my clients.

Votary Super Sensitive Cleansing Cream

Vegan & Cruelty Free

Perfect for all skin types including sensitive, irritated, redness prone skin.

I am a sucker for a great creamy cleanser and, in my opinion, this is one of the best. Votary have developed a unique blend of twenty one super seed oils which work together to nourish and soothe. It is ultra gentle yet effective at cleaning the skin. It's rich cream texture won't clog pores. Oat extract is known to be calming and conditioning and it's a great ally for supporting the skins protective barrier when it feels out of sorts. It's such an incredible hydrating cleanser I have it available for my facial treatments and also use it personally at home.

Apply a small amount to dry or damp skin and massage around the face and neck. Add a little water and continue massaging before gently removing with a damp face cloth.

Eym Candles - The Meditative One (Laze)

100% Natural Candle

Vegan & Cruelty Free

Perfect for when you are seeking some quiet time

Jam packed with a serene mix of essential oils including patchouli and frankincense to positively boost your mood. Described as a 'real balm for the soul' because it creates a space for some peace.

I use this regularly in my treatment room to help create a soothing and tranquil environment, especially during evening appointments. I also light them at home when I am in need of some quiet moments myself.

Versed Day Maker Micro crystal Exfoliator

Vegan & Cruelty Free

100% plant based biodegradable cellulose micro crystals (a much better alternative to micro-beads)

Ideal for all skin types including acne prone, dull and sensitive complexions

Perfect for anyone looking for a good old fashioned exfoliator with particles. The skincare industry has been flooded with acid exfoliators in the last couple of years. I like these but I also like a traditional exfoliator, as long as the granules are small and gentle on the skin. This is one of those such products. It's non gritty or abrasive and is so good at buffing away dry dead skin cells to brighten the complexion and smooth the texture. An antioxidant rich blend of raspberry leaf and blackcurrant balance out oil production and inflammation.

Apply a small amount to damp skin and massage gently avoiding the eye area. Add more water to ensure it glides over the skin, rather than dragging it. Rinse off with warm water. If I'm left with any residue before I wash off I apply it to the back of my hands to help give them a new lease of life. I use this once or twice a week max. It's actually an exfoliating cleanser but I would use it after cleansing. I have been really impressed with this exfoliator. I use it on my own skin and in my treatments as it suits pretty much everyone.

Sundau Riley Ice Ceramide Moisturising Cream

Cruelty Free & Vegetarian

Perfect for normal to dry, mature, dehydrated, perimenopausal and menopausal skin

Ceramides, which are naturally occuring lipids in our skin, are the hero in this wonderful moisturising cream because they strengthen the skins natural moisture barrier. It does this by sealing in moisture. This is all too often compromised by environmental aggressors, harsh skincare regimes and sometimes medication leaving the skin dehydrated, sensitive, itchy and/or crepey. Beetroot and coconut extract deliver replenishment by pulling hydration into the skin. Coconut reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL) which also increases the skins moisturisation It's a great combo. If your skin is a bit thirsty, irritated or dry this cream definitely packs a punch. It's very rich but at the same time lightweight and smells like marzipan in a jar. Not my favourite scent, I must admit, but that's all forgotten once it's applied to the face because it honestly feels like wrapping your face in a soft blanket.

I apply to my skin in the evening after cleansing, toning, serum/oil during the colder months, on and after long flights or if my skin has inadvertently had too much sun. I've also used this in many a client facial.
