Christmas Gift Edit 2024

nicolameirholistic

My fourth year of compiling a Christmas gift guide and I still love the whole process of selecting the items and putting the edit together. As always it features gifts I have personally used or bought for friends and family. For those of you who have seen each years guide you'll notice there are a couple of products which have made it onto the list again because they are just too good to leave out. However, please know that I'm not promoting mindless shopping by publishing this edit. I'm much more about mindful shopping. Therefore I hope this edit serves as some inspiration if you really need it.

Book

Self-Care for Winter by Suzy Reading

A beautiful book with very practical advice about tackling these darker, colder months. I love Suzy Reading and own several of her books and have gifted a few of them too. She is a Chartered Psychologist, coach and an advocate for being kind to yourself and embracing the little things in every day life. This book is the perfect companion to have by your bedside or next to your spot on the sofa. Cozy up and read a few pages with your drink of choice.

£14.05 Hardcover

Candle

Eym - The Meditative One - Laze

I stock Eym candles in my treatment room and there is a reason I chose this particular brand. They are 100% natural containing lots of mood boosting essential oils and are very well priced. Laze is my favourite, it's a really calm and peaceful fragrance containing frankincense and patchouli to name a few. But there are several fragrances to choose from for every occasion.

Make up *Featured last year*

Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liner

The best eye pencil I've used. Lots of great colours, soft and really workable, stays put and has a very useful smudger on the other end of the pencil to create a smokey eye effect. Roughly apply and leave to dry for a minute or two before smudging or blending. This ensures the colour doesn't budge. It's really easy. My personal favourites are Cinnamon and Cocoa which would suit all eye colours. I wear cinnamon most days and this one pencil has lasted me almost a year. Oh yes, and there is the option to get a little sharpener too.

Book

What's for Christmas Dinner? By Sarah Rossi

A Sunday Times bestseller, Sarah is the queen of fuss free easy family cooking. If, like me, you don't want to spend hours following a twenty step recipe, this is the book for you. She has several books which are all excellent and you can follow her on instagram. She shares so many tips and tricks. This book is filled with easy but delicious recipes and cute foodie gift ideas such as hot chocolate jars and salted caramel truffles. Yum!

£18.73 Hardcover

Skincare

Laniege Lip Mask

Although this is a lip sleeping mask it can be applied at any time of day and is very effective at hydrating the lips. Lots of us suffer with dry lips at this time of year, cold weather and central heating are usually the main culprits. Slather this on at bed time and lips will feel decidedly moisturised and plumped on waking in the morning. I love the Vanilla flavour which is very subtle (ordinarily I'm not a vanilla lover). But there are other flavours available and gift sets too.

£21 (Use code SALICB on the Cult Beauty website and receive 20% off - £16.77).

Home

Heated Throw

Silentnight Luxury Heated Throw

Made from a super soft fleecy material guaranteed to keep you warm, whether that be whilst snuggled up on the sofa or at your work desk or on your bed. We have a couple of these at home, my eldest has one at uni and we've gifted a few too. Super useful during these colder months.

£41.99

Clothing *featured before*

Boux Avenue Socks in a bag

A lovely little stocking filler. These are good quality socks, with a few different designs to choose from that are presented in a cute drawstring bag.

Personal

Personalised calendar - Photobox

My mum loves a slimline calendar and I've designed personalised versions on Photobox's website for her. It's very easy to do. Choosing and uploading the photos you want on each page,, deciding on the colour scheme and text etc. The whole process from start to finish doesn't take long and you definitely don't need to be a technical wiz to do it.

£19.99

Book

Frankie By Graham Norton

I read this book a few months ago and I felt bereft when I had finished it. It's a wonderfully written story about a woman called Frankie. It bounces between present day London, Ireland in the 1950s and New York in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. A really impactful story about trying to live a significant life and it's full of emotion.

£15.99 Hardcover

Skincare

L'Occitane soaps

Incredibly long lasting gentle soaps suitable for sensitive skin. Triple milled means that they do not turn to mush, they keep their shape and create a lather not dissimilar to whipped cream. Beautiful fragrances with my personal fav being Milk. This is a comforting and mild scent. Liquid soaps have definitely cornered the market these days but there is something about the tactile nature of a bar of soap which is lovely to use.

£7.50-£10.50

Tech

Transparent speaker by Transparent Sound

Receiving five stars by What Hi Fi? is no mean feat! This is a Stockholm designed small speaker which has been designed to last forever, meaning new components can be added as the latest wireless technology evolves. The sound is incredible and, to state the obvious, it is transparent so you can see right through it. A real statement piece. An investment, for sure, but you'll have it forever. I love Swedish design and this is no exception. Transparent by name and transparent by nature in their quest to be open, honest and sustainable in their business practices.

£450

Jewellery

Mint Velvet

A simple chunky link necklace, with the option of matching earrings and bracelet. In both silver and gold they will suit all skin tones. This is a really stylish design which will compliment a simple winter jumper or a dress or blazer on a night out.

£35.00 Necklace £29.00 Bracelet £25.00 Earrings

Skincare *Featured the last three years*

L'Occitane Intensive Hand Balm

The best hand balm in the world (again, in my opinion) for very dry skin. L'Occitane also offer a hand cream in the same range which is another great choice and slightly lighter in texture. They come in a variety of sizes, fragrances and consistencies. Always a great gift to give, and receive, with lots of gift sets available.

£9.00 to £26.50

Clothing

Urban Outfitters

Scarf - Heritage Check Scarf

A choice of three colours, super soft and warm. This is not an itchy material which is really important to me and it's pretty stylish.

£24.00

Tech

Cnick Smart Payment Ring

Don't want to take out money, cards, your wallet or phone? How about paying with your ring instead! My husband has this ring, it really works and freaks people out when he pays for his coffee or train ticket using it. Obviously this is not a necessity but if you know someone who is into the tech this might be the gift for them.

Starmoon Gen2 £199 (cheaper designs are available) Currently 20% off this price with code BFCMSA20

Skincare

L'Occitane Bath Foam

I have loved these bath foams for twenty years. They feel luxurious, smell absolutely divine, last for months and don't dry out your skin. My personal favourite is the Shea Bubble Bath but I also love the Milky Almond.

Kids & Adults

Uno

Really simple but loads of fun. We take a pack of Uno cards whenever we are travelling. My teenagers love playing.

Clothing

M & S Rosie Fleece Hooded Dressing Gown

Myself and my daughters all have this dressing gown in various colours. It is super soft, warm and feels so luxurious. It rivals the more expensive versions on the market and washes up really well.

£45 (currently on sale at £36)

Make up

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

If you want make up to stay in place and last all day finish with a spritz this setting spray. I use it every time I wear make up and it's the best one I have tried.

£20 - £49

Food

M & S All Butter Scottish Shortbread Assortment 650g

For me shortbread is synonymous with Christmas and this shortbread is not only delicious but very reasonably priced for the amount you get and the fact it is presented in a decorative tin. The perfect partner with a cup of tea or really switch it up and pair it with some cheeses.

£7.00

Book

London Villages

A nice little coffee table book (although it's a lot smaller than your typical coffee table book). An interesting read about some of London's neighbourhoods with hand drawn maps and local highlights. Having lived in and around London for twenty five years I'm not sure how many of the areas featured are 'villages' but it's a good read all the same.

£9.79 Paperback

Personal Care

Ordo Electric Toothbrush

A much better electric toothbrush than others on the market. A smaller head for those hard to reach areas, much more tactile than larger versions, not needing to be charged regularly and a favourable price are just a few reasons why this toothbrush is worth considering. Can be charged in it's own carry case too.

£29.99 - £69.00

Personal

Lululemon Water bottle

The best water bottle for keeping water cold that has a straw drinking spout. If, like me, you don't like a water bottle that has a separate lid that you have to take off and hold every time you want to take a sip, this is a great option as you just flip up the straw to drink. It's robustly made and easy to clean.

£38 24oz

Skincare

Wild Source Facial Oils

These are beautiful high quality facial oils. Effective at giving glow to the skin and delivering hydration. I use mine in the evening on cleansed skin and give myself a little facial massage at the same time. I treat my clients to these oils as part of my facial treatments and also stock them to purchase.

£22 - £57
